CUPID
RECOMMENDS! The
secret to success with internet personals, isn't really a
secret, it's good marketing. Here's what Cupid suggests.
- First, write down
the things you're looking for in a mate. Get
detailed. When you're done put each attribute or
trait into three categories; must have, should
have and would be nice to have. Don't cheat
yourself, or get greedy; just be honest.
- Second, write down
all your attributes and your hang ups. What do
you like to do, to eat, to read, whatever. What
makes you tick, makes you want to get up in the
morning, or stay up late at night. The trick is
to figure out how to honestly sell yourself to
someone who is looking for what you've got.
- Third, write
several, ads talking about who you are and what
your looking for. Always use an attention getting
opening or headline. Then check out ads on the
various sites recommended by Cupid, and pay
particular attention to the ads that grabbed your
attention, and the ads that are informative and
interesting. If someone describes the mate you're
searching for, improve it and use it.
- Forth, revise your
ads until you've got it just right. Two points,
use active and descriptive words and give
yourself a time deadline, like one week to fine
tune your ad. If you don't have a deadline, you
might never post your ad.
- Fifth, post your
ad on all the sites recommended by Cupid which
are appropriate to your audience. Don't look for
a penpal who is a nun on OutPersonals, etc.
- Sixth, post a
photo with your ad. Find one that you like and
post it. Surprises make people nervous. By
posting a photo you eliminate a lot of that
nervousness and anxiety that comes with personal
ads, and blind dating.
- Seventh and
lastly, monitor your progress. If you're getting
no responses consider rewriting the ad. If you
didn't post a photograph post one. And if you're
posting in a database focused on the wrong
audience, post on a more appropriate site. Don't
give up!
Have fun, be
adventerous, keep your chin up and you go girl, or boy.
Good luck.
